This evening we had a fun time just kicking the ball back and forth in the driveway. We played a couple games, one is the ball has to stay moving and we pass it back and forth. Later we tried to keep the soccer ball bouncing, kicking it back and forth between each other. Overall [...]
Well tonight I sat through my first practice for my six year old – not as a coach but as a dad. It’s hard. I wanted to say, get after the ball. Quit standing back, but I didn’t I just sat there and try to enjoy the fact that my son was enjoying playing soccer. [...]

Coaching Soccer Kids is a blog run by a dad that spends as much time as he can outside with his son teaching him soccer and skills that will make him a solid athlete. My vision for the site is to serve as a blog documenting the growth and development of my son in soccer so you can use that as a measuring stick for your kids, find resources to articles relevant to this age, or want to read about some other parent going through the same issues as you. I do not have any special qualifications for the information I am providing other than I want my son to be great at whatever he does, and as a former player I would love for that to be soccer.
